Welcome to the Frazee-Vergas Early Childhood Center! Within this area you will find information about programs available for families with children from birth through kindergarten entrance.  These services include:  Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE), School Readiness, and Preschool Screening.

Early Childhood Family Education: Providing parent education to support children's learning and development.  ECFE views parents as being the first and most important teacher to their children, classes are for children ages birth -5 years old (pre-kindergarten) and their parents/guardians.

School Readiness: This is  the district's preschool program.  Classes include Kinder Quest (for children who will be 4 years old by September 1) and Three's Alone (for children who will be 3 by September 1). Is your child ready for kindergarten?  See below for the district's kindergarten expectations for readiness.

Kindergarten ReadinessThis document is designed for parents to review and use as a guide in determining their child's readiness to attend kindergarten.  The developmental learning areas are based on the state's early learning standards and provide specific skills deemed necessary by the Frazee-Vergas kindergarten teachers.  Examples for expectations in cognitive development are: lower case letter identification, upper case letter identification, colors & shapes, and "ABA" Pattern

Mixed Ages: (Newborns to 5 Years Old) This class is designed for your entire family. New and exciting things will be introduced each time with circle time, a snack, and a parent discussion group (providing a separation time between children and parents.)

Kinder Quest Preschool Program: Our program is for children who will be four by September 1. The curriculum will strengthen kindergarten readiness and includes literacy assessments and parent conferences. Activities will include group circle time, individual and group play, snacks, songs, and stories. Your preschooler will also have the opportunity to ride the bus to and from school.

Three’s Alone Preschool Program If your child is feeling independent, is past the diaper stage, and wants to go to school, this class is for him/ her! The activities will include a group circle time, small group table choices, snack time, and open play time. Children must be three by September 1.

Preschool Screening: This health and developmental screening meets the State of Minnesota requirement for children, ages 3 to 5 years of age, and is required in order to attend Kindergarten.
