FREE Preschool Screening is needed to attend Hornet Academy. Click here to schedule your child's screening. This health and developmental screening meets the State of Minnesota requirement for children, ages 3 to 5 years of age, and is required to attend Kindergarten. Screenings for the Detroit Lakes and Frazee-Vergas School districts are provided through the Becker County Public Health Services in Detroit Lakes. This service is free of charge and takes approximately one hour to complete. Census - Your Child & Family Counts!
Is your child on the school census? If you have recently moved into our district or had an addition to the family (such as birth or adoption), please complete the census form. This will ensure you receive information on Preschool Health Screening, Early Childhood Family Education and School Readiness programs, Kindergarten Roundup/Registration, etc. The school census will be used only for school business and will be handled in a confidential manner. By completing the census form you are also helping our district determine funding for preschool classes. A separate form is needed for each child and please only include children ages infants through 6 who are not yet enrolled in elementary school.
