Concussion Protocol: Located below is the Minnesota State High School League concussion protocol. If your child sustains a concussion, they will sit for a minimum of one week and will go through a graduated return-to-play protocol under my supervision once they are deemed symptom-free. I also utilize Sway Medical software for my concussion diagnostics. Sway is a tool used to gage balance and cognition which are often affected after sustaining a concussion. A new Sway baseline test will be taken every 2 years for contact-sport athletes. If a concussion is sustained, another test will be administered and compared to their baseline results. If you would like to read more about the Sway software, a link is included below. Sway tests can be taken on any smart phone or tablet, and baselines are usually administered at the start of a sports season.

Sports Physicals: Your child needs a sports physical every 3 years, typically entering 7th and 10th grade. A physical must be on file at the school prior to the first practice. Located below is a link to the MSHSL sports physical form.

Wrestling Skin Conditions: If your child acquires a skin rash of any kind during the wrestling season, a MSHSL wrestling skin form must be taken to a physician for their evaluation and signature. A link for the form is listed below.
