ECFE Parent/Child Classes  (Newborns to age 5 years old)

Research shows that early childhood programs involving both parents and children are more effective than programs focusing exclusively on children.  Educators and psychologists contend that it is vital for early childhood programs to assist parents in their role as primary educators of their children.  Involving families prior to kindergarten enrollment encourages parents to play an active role in their children’s learning from birth into the elementary years and beyond.   And research confirms that children whose parents are involved in their education and learning are more successful in school.    We encourage all parents to participate in our Early Childhood Family Education classes along with their children.   Class is available Thursday evenings and Friday mornings. Classes typically start in October and run through March. You are registering for the 2023-24 school year.  Please be aware that you are registering your child for the upcoming year and that there is a fee for these classes.    At this time you are not being charged any fees just registering and it will show a zero balance for registration purposes only.   There is a fee for classes and parents will have several options for making payments.   There is a minimum number of students needed for the classes to run and a limited number of spots in each class.  Once classes are filled, families have the option to add their child to the “waitlist” for the 2023-24 Hornet Academy.  We will contact you should there be an opening.   The District is currently taking applications for a Early Childhood Family Education Parent Educator.  The School District will communicate when a teacher is hired and when classes begin.
