As a long standing tradition of science inquiry the Frazee-Vergas Elementary students have a unique opportunity to take part in the 240 acre school forest. Sixth grade students teach the younger fellow students about more that 25+ animals native to Minnesota; from black bear to chipmunks, their habitats, diets, and predators in the animal kingdom. The students research a specific animal of their choice and create posters with images of them in different stages of development and present them to the younger students. The learning experience in the forest is exciting because you are learning new information all the time while moving throughout the forest. The forest is located about 5 miles from Frazee in Burlington Township, Becker County.
